Our industry leading team is currently looking for an exceptional candidate with strong technical and product experience to focus on building future data products for consumers or real estate partners on the Trulia website.
Responsibilities
In this senior product role you will be responsible for development of current real estate data derivatives on Trulia’s site, including price trends, charts, property comparisons, etc. Working with sales engineering, business development, and engineering teams, you will build world class listing management and search quality business rules and infrastructure. You will also be integral in projects with marketing and PR teams to prepare ad-hoc and ongoing data for national and local media. Contact with 3rd party partners and vendors will be required for acquisition of necessary data. With strong experience in information services and technology, you will oversee the company’s data pipeline and data management (process, tools), and manage the definition and creation of internal real estate/listings data related products. To be successful in this critical role, you should have an exceptional comfort level with numbers and meaning, have strong leadership and project management skills, be a hands-on operator who really gets a thrill from data.
Requirements
- 8+ years in data management and product development roles - Demonstrated ability to work with very large and dynamic (real-time) data sets - Advanced statistical and data mining skills - Working knowledge of large scale data processing and computing clusters - Leadership ability within fast moving entrepreneurial and technology sectors - Demonstrated masterful project management skills of large and complex technical initiatives - Experience within agile software development environments - Experience in web based APIs and evolving data transport protocols
Additional/Preferred - Extensive experience within the real estate or financial services Industry - Ph. D or Masters degrees in Business, Economics and/or Statistics with very strong Internet or software development experience - Charting and data presentation (i.e. are you a fan of Tufte?)
